Slept in an extra hour this morning. The sun was even thinking about getting up...but it stayed in bed. I actually don't even feel bad about sleeping longer. I could just tell my body needed it. Short blog.

Turkey almost here...
In the morning. I got to get up earlier. Much going on and I can't concentrate. Kids movin' around and the daily pace of life starts early in the Hunter home. It's all good stuff, just not conducive to quiet time I need to recharge. Turkey season is coming and that will certainly help to get out once a week or so and try to get me a turkey. That is always rejuvenating for me. Not sure what it is about nature that brings me so close to God. When I am out there in the woods I watch all of His creation interacting...I love to watch the animals talk, fight, play, eat etc...I am glad turkey season is almost here. Only another 8 months until the mother of all seasons is upon us...the season of the whitetail. I'll chat with myself more about that later.

Still truckin.
Body for life is goin'. I am counting every calorie every day and it seems to make no difference, but I am committed to it nonetheless. We shall see. 2 1/2 weeks down, 9 1/2 to go. Isaac and I are doing this together, and the wives have joined in too. It is easier doing things and staying committed when others around me are doing the same. I need to remember that and be that motivation for others. It's the first time in a long time for me when I am making a true effort to give all areas of my life over to God and let Him do what he wants. Clearly, when I keep them, I get fat...that is what I have learned. Luckily my wife is a great example and is incredibly disciplined in the areas I am not. I just need to continue to do a little bit everyday and see what God does when I march in the same direction over a prolonged period of time. This blog is not about trucks at all.

Near death of Body for Life
I had a craving yesterday that would not go away. It was the first time since I started this stupid program (that is currently making no progress on my body) that I wanted to eat 2 whole pizzas and some cupcakes along with lots of Doritos. Man, it mad me mad. I had to take a nap in the middle of the day to try to shake it off...no go. It didn't work. I didn't give in though. I did not exceed 2000 calories yesterday, which is my goal each day. I ate great foods. Today is supposed to be a free day, but I don't think I will really use it. My progress is virtually nothing after 2 weeks of this thing. If I look the same after 2 more weeks it is very possible I will be discouraged. I am going to do all 12 weeks no matter what. I won't give up early, just mad that I really have lost no weight and no fat (according to the scale and the skin caliper)...how is that possible when you cut your calories in half and workout 6 days a week and eat all small meals throughout the day that include only clean burning, butt -kickin fuel? No sweets! Ah, I am slightly frustrated this morning. My small rant here has made me feel slightly better. This morning we will take the week 2 progress photos...I am thinking I could probably just use the before pictures and it will look the same, but we will see. Stupid program...maybe I will like you better when you actually make progress as a result of my effort. Unfortunately there is no such thing as progress without effort, my only concern is that there may be effort without progress.

Body for Life

In the latest quest for personal discipline as a part of my goals for personal holiness this year, I have started the "Body for Life" challenge. Now I didn't sign up on the website and all that junk because I didn't want any of their supplements or junk email. I just have read about 10 hours worth of stuff on how to do it and am staying motivated so far.
I was talking to my pops the other day and he said this..."Hunter's have to have a plan. Unfortunately, we all have addictive behavior tendencies and if you don't get addicted to something productive, something unproductive will chose you." He's right. Especially for me. So, I have this plan for the next 10 weeks (I am currently in week 2 of 12) to make sure that I follow the plan. I thinks it's a good plan. Now if only I could figure out another way to fit the word "plan" in here.
The pictures of "before" Josh are not too awesome. We will see what the after pictures look like. Currently I am motivated. I am eating like they said to eat. I am on the quest for discipline so I only kind of care if my body actually transforms. My goal is that this 12 weeks would turn into a lifestyle instead of another one of my brilliant ideas that fizzle out into the junk pile of discarded temporary exuberances.
We shall see. 10 days in and 74 to go. Then I will look like this guy.
